Spotify has launched its new Reserved ticketing program in the United States, giving eligible Premium subscribers access to select concert tickets before they go on sale to the general public.
The feature, which was announced last month, was developed in partnership with Live Nation and is powered by Ticketmaster. Reserved is designed to identify an artist’s most dedicated fans and provide them with the opportunity to purchase up to two tickets during a dedicated presale window.
Eligibility is determined by Spotify using a variety of signals, including streams, saves, shares and location. The company said it does not disclose all of the factors used in order to encourage genuine fan engagement.
Starting this week, eligible Premium subscribers age 18 and older will begin receiving Reserved offers for select tours. Fans who qualify will be notified through email, push notifications and the “Your Updates” section of the Spotify app. Offers will also appear on the home screen and can be found through search, artist pages, the Live Events Feed and the Now Playing view.

Once a Reserved window opens, fans can tap “Buy now” and select up to two tickets for any eligible date on the tour. The purchase window generally lasts about a day, and fans are not limited to shows closest to where they live. Ticket inventory includes a range of seating options and price levels, with availability varying by event.
After selecting tickets, fans are directed to Ticketmaster to complete the purchase. Spotify recommends connecting Spotify and Ticketmaster accounts in advance to speed up the checkout process. For high-demand events, users may encounter a queue before reaching the ticket selection page, but Spotify said two tickets will remain reserved for eligible fans throughout the entire purchase window.
Singer-songwriter Role Model will be the first artist to use the Reserved system. Eligible fans will begin receiving notifications on June 23 ahead of the tour’s general on-sale date.
Spotify said the new program is intended to give artists another way to connect with their most engaged listeners while rewarding fans who actively support them on the platform.
To avoid missing a Reserved offer, Spotify recommends that users keep live event notifications enabled, update the app regularly and turn on location services for the Live Events Feed. When an offer becomes available, fans can view participating tour dates, see when their purchase window opens and set reminders directly through the app.
