Alicia Keys’ Broadway musical “Hell’s Kitchen” has set an end date for its run at the Shubert Theatre, with the production scheduled to play its final performance on February 22.
The announcement comes as the show prepares to welcome back original cast member Brandon Victor Dixon, who will rejoin the company beginning January 27.
Dixon is set to reprise his Tony-nominated role as Davis, the absentee father whose reappearance complicates the life of teenage protagonist Ali. He will remain with the Broadway company through the show’s final weeks. Dixon was part of the musical’s original ensemble and earned critical attention for his portrayal when the production opened.
“Hell’s Kitchen” officially opened on Broadway on April 20, 2024, following a successful Off-Broadway engagement at The Public Theater in 2023. Inspired by Keys’ own upbringing in New York City, the musical quickly became one of the season’s most prominent new titles.

During its Broadway run, the show received 13 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, and ultimately won two Tonys for performances by Maleah Joi Moon and Kecia Lewis. The production also earned a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
Despite the Broadway closing, “Hell’s Kitchen” is slated to continue its life beyond New York with a multi-year national tour already in the works. International productions are also planned, with upcoming stagings announced for South Korea, Germany, and Australia.
The current Broadway cast is led by Amanda Reid as Ali and Kelsee Kimmel as Jersey, Ali’s protective mother. The company also features Yolanda Adams as Miss Liza Jane, NE-YO as Davis, and Lamont Walker II as Knuck.
Featuring music and lyrics by Keys and a book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Kristoffer Diaz, the musical is directed by Michael Greif, with choreography by Camille A. Brown. The production’s creative team includes scenic designer Robert Brill, costume designer Dede Ayite, lighting designer Natasha Katz, sound designer Gareth Owen, and projection designer Peter Nigrini.
