Broadway stars Darren Criss and Helen J. Shen have announced their final performances in the Tony-winning musical “Maybe Happy Ending.”
Shen will play her final performance as Claire on February 15, 2026, while Criss, who earned a Tony for his portrayal of Oliver, will conclude his run on May 17, 2026.
Following Shen’s departure, the role of Claire will be covered by current standby Hannah Kevitt from February 17 through April 2. Current standby Claire Kwon will then take over the part from April 3 through May 17. The next full-time cast members for the Helperbot roles will be revealed at a later date, according to production officials.

Original cast members Dez Duron and Marcus Choi will remain with the show, alongside Oliver Steven Huynh and Christopher James Tamayo. Daniel May will continue as the standby for both James and Gil, maintaining continuity in the ensemble.
“Maybe Happy Ending” opened at the Belasco Theatre on November 12, 2024. The musical, featuring a book and score by Hue Park and Will Aronson, became the most awarded show of the last Tony season, earning six prizes.
Two-time Tony winner Michael Arden directs the production, overseeing a creative team that includes scenic and video designer Dane Laffrey, costume designer Clint Ramos, lighting designer Ben Stanton, sound designer Peter Hylenski, video designer George Reeve, music supervisor Deborah Abramson, and music director John Yun.
