“SIX” is officially heading to U.S. movie theaters this summer.
The highly-acclaimed Broadway musical will be released under the title “SIX The Musical Live,” heading to theaters on August 14. The film was recorded at the Vaudeville Theatre in London, featuring the original West End cast Aimie Atkinson, Alexia McIntosh, Millie O’Connell, Natalie Paris, Maiya Quansah-Breed, and Jameia Richard-Noel.
While “SIX The Musical Live” was previously released in cinemas in the U.K. and Ireland last year, followed by Australia in January 2026, this marks the first time U.S. fans will be able to see the film in theaters. Already, it has grossed more than $8.5 million from its two releases, breaking a record at the box office for the biggest opening day for a live recorded musical, as well as the top event cinema release in the U.K.

Since its premiere at Edinburgh Fringe in 2017, “SIX” has landed on the West End in 2019 and Broadway in 2021. It has been nominated for eight Tony Award and received two, including Best Original Score. “SIX” has also traveled on multiple tours across the U.K. and North America, as well as internationally in Japan, China, Spain, Netherlands, and more countries.
“SIX” tells the story of King Henry VIII’s six wives, delving into history with a modern, spunky twist of “girl power” and reclaiming their identities.
