Franklin, Tennessee’s Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival had to call-off its 2020 edition of the fest.
Originally, the event was slated to take place at The Park at Harlinsdale Farms from September 26 to 27. However, festival organizers took to social media to cancel the festival this year. The show would have featured headlining performances from Foo Fighters, The Killers, and Keith Urban.
“With pieces in place, we were fully ready to accelerate preparations to host the festival this year,” one of the festival’s co-producers, Brandt Wood, said in a statement. “However, it became clear that the assurance for public safety would be difficult at best and we needed to postpone until 2021. We had sincerely hoped that Pilgrimage would serve its annual role to bring the community out to celebrate music and, particularly this year, to celebrate coming back together.”
Organizers went on to thank the City of Franklin staff and officials, as well as Friends of Franklin Parks over the years, who helped them assess the ongoing situation amid the coronavirus pandemic. Those who purchased tickets will be able to transfer their passes to 2021 by June 2 or will automatically receive a full refund. Ticketholders should expect to receive an email shortly with full details after organizers finalize the refund timing with their ticketing partner.
“For all of those who joined us in the past and those who have yet to make the Pilgrimage, we thank you for your understanding and we look forward to celebrating live music together again next year,” the festival said.
This is the latest festival to be cancelled due to coronavirus concerns, following suit of Firefly, Boston Calling, and Essence. See our full, updating list of festivals cancelled or postponed this season here.
