Matthew Broderick, Katie Couric Join Broadway Run of ‘Celebrity Autobiography’

Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick has joined the Broadway run of Celebrity Autobiography, which begins performances May 16 at the Shubert Theatre.

The comedy show has also added several new guest performers, including Katie Couric, actor Anthony Anderson, Jason Alexander, Tiler Peck, and Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer.

The newly announced cast members join previously revealed performers including show creators Eugene Pack and Dayle Reyfel, and Rita Wilson. Additional members include Scott Adsit, Mario Cantone, Jackie Hoffman, Christopher Jackson, Ben Mankiewicz and  Andrea Martin.

“Celebrity Autobiography” features a rotating lineup of actors, comedians, television personalities, and entertainers reading excerpts from real celebrity memoirs onstage. Producers say performances will vary nightly, with some guest stars appearing for multiple weeks and others joining for only one or two performances. Surprise appearances are also expected throughout the run.

The production first premiered Off-Broadway, where it won the 2009 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience. Since then, the show has staged performances internationally, including engagements in London’s West End and at the Sydney Opera House.

Producers also announced several discounted ticket options for theatergoers. A digital lottery offering $49 tickets will open at midnight Eastern the day before each performance. Winners will be selected at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Eastern and may purchase up to two tickets.

A limited digital rush program will also offer $49 tickets on the day of performances, subject to availability. In addition, an in-person rush policy will provide $40 same-day tickets at the box office beginning at 10 a.m. daily and noon on Sundays.

The Broadway production features scenic and costume design by Derek McLane, lighting design by Ed McCarthy, and sound design by Palmer Hefferan.
