Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival announced its official 2020 lineup this morning, featuring a handful of A-list stars for the event this June.
The four-day festival, which is set to run from June 12 to 15 in Manchester, will kick things off on Thursday night with the Grand Ole Opry featuring special guests. The progressive-metal group Tool, who just returned to the music scene last year with a new record, will take over Friday’s festivities. They’ll be joined by pop star Miley Cyrus, the EDM group Bassnectar, indieheads The 1975 and Young The Giant, and hip-hop rising star Megan Thee Stallion. Wallows, The Band Camino, Dashboard Confessional, and Brittany Howard are also among the artists to round-out the night.
Genre-crossing Lizzo, who has been named by several publications by one of the top artists of 2019 with her smash-hit “Truth Hurts,” will take over Saturday. EDM artist Flume will take the stage, as well as comedy-rock duo Tenacious D, country’s Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, and rappers Da Baby and Kevin Gates. Kevin Parker, the mastermind behind the psychedelic powerhouse Tame Impala, will close-out the festival on Sunday. He’ll be joined by dream-pop’s Lana Del Rey, rock groups Vampire Weekend and Flogging Molly, soul’s Leon Bridges, and rock-glam group The Struts, among others.
In addition to the music, Bonnaroo offers camping on-site, activities like yoga, painting, and a 5k, art installations, and lots of food options. The festival also is striving to be the greenest festival with sustainability standards and year-round edications to their nonprofit The Bonnaroo Works Fund.
General admission passes, as well as VIP and Platinum options, will head on sale this week.
