The nu-metal icons of Linkin Park made history this month at England’s Download Festival.
The band took the stage at this year’s festival on June 14 at Donington Park in Leicestershire for a headlining performance following Limp Bizkit and Guns N’ Roses. This year marked Linkin Park’s fifth time headlining Download since 2003. With Armstrong, who replaced the late Chester Bennington when the band reformed in 2023, Linkin Park officially became the first band with a frontwoman to headline the festival.
Linkin Park’s Download performance took place amid their “From Zero World Tour.” The trek is currently on its European leg.
The historic achievement is not the first for Linkin Park on this tour; earlier this year year, the group broke an attendance record at New Zealand’s Spark Arena. According to the venue, Linkin Park sold a total of 12,736 tickets to the show — breaking the previous record number of sales in a single night since the arena first opened in 2007.
