AXS has been named the new ticketing provider for Melbourne Park, giving the global ticketing company a significant presence across one of Australia’s most prominent live entertainment precincts.
The agreement covers Melbourne Park’s year‑round events outside the Australian Open and includes ticketing across major venues such as Rod Laver Arena, AAMI Park, John Cain Arena, and Margaret Court Arena. According to the announcement, the partnership will introduce new digital platforms and ticketing technology aimed at improving the purchasing process, accessibility, and the overall experience for fans attending sports, music, and entertainment events.
The deal adds to AXS’s growing international venue portfolio, which already includes The O2 in London, Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and T‑Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The company also provides ticketing services for major events such as the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Coachella, Stagecoach, and the BNP Paribas Open.
Industry publication Austadiums reported that AXS will replace longtime Melbourne Park ticketing provider Ticketek for the precinct’s non–Australian Open calendar. The change reflects broader competitive shifts within Australia’s ticketing market, where venue control, digital infrastructure, customer data, and integrated resale capabilities are increasingly central to ticketing strategies.

Melbourne Park CEO John Harnden AM said the decision was focused on the fan experience, stating that the partnership “continues our focus on elevating the fan experience at Melbourne Park, delivering a world‑class ticketing journey to match our world‑class sports, music and entertainment experiences.”
Andrew Travis, CEO of AXS Australia and New Zealand, described Melbourne Park as “an iconic live events destination,” adding that the company views the agreement as an opportunity to bring its ticketing platform and technology to the precinct.
Melbourne Park is operated by the Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust on behalf of the Victorian Government and encompasses some of the region’s busiest sports and entertainment venues. The precinct hosts millions of visitors each year across hundreds of events, including international and domestic sports competitions, concerts, and the Australian Open tennis tournament.
Notably, the Australian Open is excluded from the agreement. The AXS contract applies only to Melbourne Park’s year‑round events, meaning the precinct’s most globally recognized annual tournament remains outside the scope of the newly announced ticketing arrangement.
For AXS, the Melbourne Park deal continues the company’s expansion across major international venue markets. Owned by AEG, AXS operates both primary and secondary ticket marketplaces and promotes its Mobile ID system as a digital ticketing solution designed to facilitate secure ticket purchasing, resale, and entry.
For Melbourne Park, the shift places ticketing infrastructure at the center of its broader approach to fan engagement, promoter relationships, and venue operations. The emphasis on digital platforms and accessibility suggests the agreement is positioned as more than a backend vendor change, reflecting ongoing efforts to modernize how fans access and manage tickets across the precinct.
